GRAPHITE

Graphite is a 9 metre semi-custom powerboat, which was built by Derwent Marine in Hobart, Tasmania. Hull number one features a contemporary fitout with a spacious, covered saloon and comfortable sleeping accommodations for four. Everything from the latest generation, 260 horsepower common-rail diesel sterndrive, to the LED lighting and quality of the fitout has been carefully selected to produce a craft that can legitimately lay claim to superyacht status. The semi-custom nature of the boat,  allows owners to tailor the design to their needs. Whether it's minor changes, like changing the colour scheme, or major, like a complete rework of the layout - within the confines of the hull, virtually anything is possible. Epoxy composite construction ensures that she is both light and strong - light enough in fact, to be legally trailered behind the average large four wheel drive*.

Graphite's design represents a significant departure from typical production vessels. The objective was to create a boat that would be comfortable, practical and economical to operate. The 'soft-chine' hullform eliminates annoying chine-slap at rest and provides a softer ride whilst underway. The epoxy-composite construction, combined with the lower than common aft deadrise, result in bottom loadings that are as much as half that of comparable boats. The end result is a vessel that is comfortable and economical throughout her speed range, allowing the operator to vary speeds to suit the conditions.
